We make five-year plans exclusively for the construction industry in accordance with the national government's five year plans for the prevention of industrial accidents. In the plans, we aim for (1) the substantial reduction of fatal accidents and major accidents, (2) the 20% reduction in industrial accidents during the period, (3) the promotion of worker's health both physically and mentally and the achievement of a comfortable work environment.
In order to achieve the goals of the Construction Accidents Prevention Five Year Plan, the JCOSHA compiles the "Construction Accident Prevention Execution Plan" every year, comprising of basic measures and important issues for the construction accident prevention of the year.
Every year, the JCOSHA hosts a national convention for people engaged in safety and health activities in the construction industry. At the convention, people who have shown distinguished achievement are awarded, "a vow for safety" is adopted, and presentations and lectures are given. By getting together, the participants will be able to confirm the significance of safety and health, to promote awareness on safety and health, and to disseminate the concept of safety and health.
